Getting pregnant is a blessing. There is nothing more amazing than bringing a new life into this world, so I am sure that you and your partner are getting very excited for the upcoming baby. However, with the pregnancy there are comes a time when you will no longer be able to do your regular chores as good as you used to. And cleaning is one of them. Of course, you can't stop cleaning the house for 9 months, so I thought I would show a way in which you can still clean your home and protect yourself and your unborn baby at the same time.
First of all, avoid fumes. In order to do so, you will have to throw away most of your chemically based cleaning products because their use could be very dangerous for your fetus. This might be the right time to discover the powerful effect of natural products, such as vinegar, baking soda and lemons. Additionally, you can use small amounts of bleach and ammonia too. For example mix a spraying bottle with 1/8 cup of ammonia and the rest fill with water - and you will have an all-purpose cleaning solution. Or add the same amount (1/8 cup) of bleach into another bottle and fill with water in order to have a disinfectant for various surfaces.
However, the one thing that it must really be avoided while pregnant is cleaning the litter box of your cat (if you have one, of course). Vacate cleaning experts within Melbourne, point out that cat's feces can cause you to contract toxoplasmosis, which could lead to miscarriage or even prematurity. Another important thing that you should consider is watching your back. Though at first you might not have a problem, soon your back will start aching and after the 4 month of your pregnancy you might find lifting different stuff more difficult. Therefore, start practicing some lifting techniques now, to avoid having problems with your back later.
Finally, with the advancing of your pregnancy you will start feeling tired faster and thus you will have to rethink your cleaning techniques. For example, do one part of the cleaning in the morning and then the rest in the afternoon. Specialists recommend not to do more than 20 minutes of cleaning in the late stages of your pregnancy, so unless you can afford a maid or your partner is helping you - stick to that cleaning technique above.
So, as you can see, even pregnant you are still able to clean your house quite easily.
